GRADUATE SCHOOL COUNSELLING
In Ghana, many students graduating with a first degree in law now opt to pursue higher education, whether as a means to fulfilling their goal of becoming legal academics or to gain expertise in a niche area of law or even as a backup plan in case they are, for some reason, unable to gain first-time admission into the Ghana School of Law to complete the professional aspects of their law studies.
Applications into graduate school, especially those in common law jurisdictions abroad like the UK, USA, Canada, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand can be quite tasking and complicated.
At Lex Evolve, many of our founders and partners have pursued higher education in some of these jurisdictions. They are willing to provide assistance and guidance to law students and interested young lawyers in selecting a graduate school to attend or a course to specialise in.
Generally, most law students and young lawyers seeking higher education in law opt to pursue the Master of Laws (LLM) programme. We also recognise that there may be graduate programmes other than the LLM that LLB degree holders are eligible to apply for, provided it aligns with their academic and professional interests. We will endeavour to assist with identifying and applying for such programmes as well.
With graduate school counselling as one of our avenues of impact, our assistance will include assisting you to identify scholarship opportunities, guidance on how to prepare a compelling Personal Statement, and to generally submit a strong application to your school or programme of choice.
