For many of us, we entered law school without really knowing what exactly it entails. We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. The stereotypical notion we often hear is that if you loved reading novels or arguing as a kid in high school, then you would fit right into law school and make a fabulous lawyer. Either that or you watched some episodes of Suits or How to Get Away with Murder or the live telecast of Ghana’s election petition on TV and decided law will be so fun and prestigious. Then you got into law school and realised reading legal texts is not as fun. The caseload keeps piling up; exams are looming closer and closer and you have no idea how you are going to survive the stress and confusion of it all. For many of us, law school is akin to being thrown in the deep end of the pool. You need a lifeguard in order to survive.

That is exactly what we at Lex Evolve aim to be: a lifeguard for law students struggling in the deep end of the pool that is law school.

Our founders and many of our partners and volunteers have been through the highs and lows and uncertainties of law school before. During those times, we wished we had an outlet, a community where we could share our confusions and seek solutions on how to navigate the arduous journey of life as a law student. Many of us did not find that support system. And so we went at it, alone and unsure. Now we want to be there for others.

At Lex Evolve, we aim to be a community of learners, sharing our experiences and helping each other try to better understand what it means to be a law student - the kind with a healthy appreciation for innovation, leadership, emotional intelligence and work-life balance, and who is adequately prepared for the 21st-century law practice.

This is Lex Evolve.

Welcome to our community.
